The company The North Face makes several great pairs of weatherproof boots that are cozy and cute.
My favorite is the North Face Nuptse Fur IV Lifestyle Insulated Boot. It comes in many colors - black with grey fur, brown with ivory fur and winter white with light brown fur. The North Face Nuptse Knee-high boot is also a cool option for insulated puffy boots. They look like a moncler jacket with the insulated puffy protection that keeps you warm on the coldest winter days. The Nuptse knee high boots size 11 do not have the lace-up and fur like the regular Nuptse Fur IV Lifestyle Boots but they are incredibly chic and cozy with comfort in mind for winter.
The Northface Greenland Zip Boot is another cool rugged boot with fur lining. The Fog gray and brown dermatisse color combination in the Greenland zip boot is the coolest of the Greenland Boot collection.

Of course this blog is generally all about size 11 shoes and size 11 boots. However, every once in a while in my vintage and thrift hunting - I come across amazing pairs of shoes and boots in various sizes. When they are really cool, I sometimes buy them regardless of size. I might walk out with a pair of vtg 80s size 7 stacked heel boots, a pair of size 10 ivory flat boots, size 11 cowboy boots or something like these. A pair of classic equestrian made in the USA, brown, solid, rich brown leather vintage 70s riding boots in size 8.

Killer vintage 1970's deep brown over the knee riding boots. Lace up details. Tabs on the inside for easy pull-on. Overall great condition with a few small scuff marks on the toe. The PERFECT fall/winter boot. These are vintage so they are a bit worn although the soles look perfect - there are a few minor scuffs around the toes - makes them look cool and worn in I think.  Great with jeans, skirts and dresses. A classic addition to your shoe collection! Size 8 Riding Boots with great soles. Why get new riding boots made to look like these at Urban Outfitters or something when you can have the real deal?

Shoe Stretcher for Tight Shoes

If you've ever bought a pair of shoes (or thought about buying a pair of shoes) that were just a little too snug, keep reading for info about the shoe stretcher for tight shoes.


I recently found myself with a perfect pair of shoes that were just a bit too small. When shoes are too small, it is a problem. If it's a pair of special occasion heels that you will only wear for one day, you may think it is not such a big deal. Maybe it's worth it to wear the shoes that cause you some pain for a night when you find the perfect color or the most amazing shoes on sale but only in one size. When you find shoes by your favorite designer in something VERY close to your size, it's hard to pass up.

I think most women have been in the position where they find the perfect pair of boots or shoes at some ridiculous discount shoe sale price that they don't want to pass up. Maybe it's a pair of Prada or Miu Miu Shoes that you normally could never justify spending money on but they are 70, 80 or 90% off!! You wear a size 11 but these are a 10.5. You'll make them work, right?

You can take the shoes to a shoe repair person or shoemaker to have them professionally stretched but why go to the hassle of that when you can stretch shoes at home yourself. No car ride to the shoe repair place. No paying for a shoe stretch that may not be stretched enough. No time wasted running around or looking for a good affordable shoe repair.


You stretch the shoes yourself at home with a womens shoe stretcher. You can pick up a shoe stretcher at a local store like CVS, Wal-Mart or Target if your store has them in stock. Some shoe stores carry shoe stretchers but many do not. I found that a great place to find a shoe stretcher is amazon. They have everything and you can get user reviews on the spot so you can find the best stretcher for your shoes based on your needs. If you are streching high heels, you will probably opt for a different stretcher than one for boots or flat shoes. Don't overlook the as seen on tv shoe stretcher product.

For my beautiful new too tight shoes, I decided to go with the Women's Shoekeeper Shoe Stretcher and Spray to soften the leather while they stretch.

You can find shoe stretchers in different sizes - some have two way stretching, others are better suited to high heels, you can find small size shoe stretchers and medium or large shoe stretchers. If your shoes are too tight, don't suffer - buy a shoe stretcher online.

If you are looking for size 11 paperbag booties for fall, keep reading. Fall is such a good time to play with volume as you can layer your clothes and wear slim pieces with more voluminous to great effect. Paper bag booties are a perfect way to work the play with volume. They have cinched tops to accentuate the smallest part of your ankle and create cool drape to make your outfit look so much more interesting with so little effort. On the left is the Marc by Marc Jacbos 605829 Bootie in Cognac. It is a fantastic neutral wear with everything paperbag ankle bootie. It cinches and gives that edgy volume, has a peep toe a very wearable low heel and is by fashion master Marc Jacobs. The 605829 boot is available in size 11 on Endless.


You can pair your paperbag ankle boots with everything - jeans, shorts, dresses, skirts and jumpsuits. They definitely give more of an edgy cool look to things so even the most basic jeans and t-shirt will be transformed by your paper bag ankle booties.

Initially, I thought one of the hottest paperbag booties out there had to be Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960 Dyson booties. First featured in Lucky magazine, with a super high stacked heel and a rich peacock blue suede and platform - these Dyson booties looked unstoppable. The shape of the bootie was unique even, appearing to give length and height and making the ankle look thin with an ultra flattering style.

However, I am disappointed to report that the House of Harlow 1960 booties featured in Lucky are not the ones that I found online ready to purchase. The House of Harlow 1960 Dyson booties that you find online come with a lower heel, a different hsape and they just don't look as cool to me. Don't get me wrong, they are still really pretty boots but they don't have the "wow" factor that the ones in the magazine had. This is off the topic of size 11 shoes but....worth telling I think. Interestingly, I had a similar experience with Nicole Richie's Winter Kate line. There was a dress I was coveting after seeing the early press release images of the dresses - it looked rich and luxe and so unique. Then, when the collection came out, a dress by the same name had replaced the one I wanted and although it was similar - it in no way compared to the original dress which was spectacular.
I am curious why they do this. I understand if the first dress wasn't profitable to sell at the price point they wanted, but then why not just sell it for more and offer a different dress with a different name at the original price point. Strange, right?

Okay, so obviously new contenders were needed for the coolest paperbag booties

Sadly, not available in Size 11, the Chinese Laundry Mollie paperbag ankle boots are a fantastic and affordable option. These boots are cinched with elastic so you avoid any annoying drawstrings or ties that you have to deal with so your paperbag look is quite polished and refined. The Chinese Laundry Mollie booties have a little peep toe but for size 11 you have to look elsewhere. However, a similar style is the Diba Wizard ankle boot. Available in women's size 11, the Diba wizard is a super affordable cute option with a medium heel height, a feminine shape and a paperbag cinch at the ankle.

Another hot ankle boot option for a cinched paperbag or drawstring style is the Seychelles Falcon Ankle Boot. Available in size 11, the Falcon Lace-up bootie is fun and hip wedge style bootie. It laces up and cinches at the top. It has a cool menswear tuxedo boot look and comes in two colors so you can get white boots or black. The Seychelles Falcon bootie has a peep-toe and zips of the back for a perfect fit.

The Miss Sixty Clark Bootie is another chic size 11 paperbag ankle boot option. With a 4 inch heel and buckle detailing all the way up, the Miss 60 Clark boot cinches at the top and looks fashion forward and fun. This paperbag boot comes in brown and black and can be purchased at Endless.
