Paperbag Booties for Fall



If you are looking for size 11 paperbag booties for fall, keep reading. Fall is such a good time to play with volume as you can layer your clothes and wear slim pieces with more voluminous to great effect. Paper bag booties are a perfect way to work the play with volume. They have cinched tops to accentuate the smallest part of your ankle and create cool drape to make your outfit look so much more interesting with so little effort. On the left is the Marc by Marc Jacbos 605829 Bootie in Cognac. It is a fantastic neutral wear with everything paperbag ankle bootie. It cinches and gives that edgy volume, has a peep toe a very wearable low heel and is by fashion master Marc Jacobs. The 605829 boot is available in size 11 on Endless.


You can pair your paperbag ankle boots with everything - jeans, shorts, dresses, skirts and jumpsuits. They definitely give more of an edgy cool look to things so even the most basic jeans and t-shirt will be transformed by your paper bag ankle booties.

Initially, I thought one of the hottest paperbag booties out there had to be Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960 Dyson booties. First featured in Lucky magazine, with a super high stacked heel and a rich peacock blue suede and platform - these Dyson booties looked unstoppable. The shape of the bootie was unique even, appearing to give length and height and making the ankle look thin with an ultra flattering style.

However, I am disappointed to report that the House of Harlow 1960 booties featured in Lucky are not the ones that I found online ready to purchase. The House of Harlow 1960 Dyson booties that you find online come with a lower heel, a different hsape and they just don't look as cool to me. Don't get me wrong, they are still really pretty boots but they don't have the "wow" factor that the ones in the magazine had. This is off the topic of size 11 shoes but....worth telling I think. Interestingly, I had a similar experience with Nicole Richie's Winter Kate line. There was a dress I was coveting after seeing the early press release images of the dresses - it looked rich and luxe and so unique. Then, when the collection came out, a dress by the same name had replaced the one I wanted and although it was similar - it in no way compared to the original dress which was spectacular.
I am curious why they do this. I understand if the first dress wasn't profitable to sell at the price point they wanted, but then why not just sell it for more and offer a different dress with a different name at the original price point. Strange, right?

Okay, so obviously new contenders were needed for the coolest paperbag booties

Sadly, not available in Size 11, the Chinese Laundry Mollie paperbag ankle boots are a fantastic and affordable option. These boots are cinched with elastic so you avoid any annoying drawstrings or ties that you have to deal with so your paperbag look is quite polished and refined. The Chinese Laundry Mollie booties have a little peep toe but for size 11 you have to look elsewhere. However, a similar style is the Diba Wizard ankle boot. Available in women's size 11, the Diba wizard is a super affordable cute option with a medium heel height, a feminine shape and a paperbag cinch at the ankle.

Another hot ankle boot option for a cinched paperbag or drawstring style is the Seychelles Falcon Ankle Boot. Available in size 11, the Falcon Lace-up bootie is fun and hip wedge style bootie. It laces up and cinches at the top. It has a cool menswear tuxedo boot look and comes in two colors so you can get white boots or black. The Seychelles Falcon bootie has a peep-toe and zips of the back for a perfect fit.
